Airports play a unique role in a country’s infrastructure and society. Depending on a city or country’s size, there may be a single or multiple major airport, however there are rarely more than 2 or 3 major international and domestic hubs. As a result, there is a huge captive client base not just domestically, but globally for a lot of countries.
To play a significant role in changing the behavior around travel and energy use, airports must maintain a strong flow of passengers, to do this the airport infrastructure must be capable of servicing the required aircraft and passenger flow.
The idea of keeping or increasing passenger flow in a polluting form of travel may be counter intuitive, however, to replace their method of travel and energy use, there must be a client base and commercial model to service, with the new technologies.
By their nature airports of all sizes take up large areas of land and are often surrounded by large areas of land. This presents and opportunity for them to play a major role in becoming a center for change in energy provision, not just for the airport and its onsite commercial customers, but for a wider surrounding community. In some cases, entire populations or even countries could be serviced by the renewable energy generation on airport and surrounding land. SkyComm is working with various governments to create just such a solution.
Our consortium in the solar and hydrogen industries have the expertise and knowledge to create a hybrid solution starting at the airport and spreading out to wider commercial and residential centers on each island.
In creating the change of source for power, SkyComm will be providing fuel supplies for vehicles such as EV’s and Hydrogen. The on-site generation and reserves will allow us to send supplies to distribution centers across an island ensuring uninterrupted supplies for clean energy public transport and private vehicles.
With the development of clean energy aircraft, initially for short to medium range, airports can become a generator of fuel supplies for their customer base.
